my father had to leave home at 14, no food in the house, had to feed sisters at home. but that was the great depression. things not so bad now, yet. but the system is basically the same, and you have been living in the 'gilded age, mark 2' for 30 years. madison designed the nation's basic law to ensure the rich ruled, and they still do. and ordinary americans put up with it, as though democracy and socialism were god-ordained to be works of the the devil. you can't help a nation of dimwits, so shithole it must be.

@robertwillard8011 no paradise, anywhere. but the scandis, finland, netherlands, oz and enzed show it's possible to do much better, with less resources.
