  1. the usa constitution was written to establish a functional plutocracy, and it worked. nowadays it has evolved into a new roman empire, but the structure of this empire is ineffectual against its latest antagonists. they are using commerce to subvert its military ascendancy, and it's working well. ironic, since commerce used to be the tool of the usa. the progress of the slow coup against venezuela is a little worrying, but iran was not knocked over in a day, either. i believe the usa must get venezuela, the oil is vital, and failure would also encourage resistance in many places. so the recent violence will be resumed unless maduro can find serious backers such as russia and china.
