if you continue to tolerate elective aristocracy, then all of politics is a matter of people, which 'noble' to support, or oppose. grown-ups prefer to leave that kind of politics in the history books, and get on with achieving democracy. many usa states would be democracies, if they were independent, but they are not. the people in those states should leave the federation, and establish a federal democracy. the swiss have been doing it to varying degree for more than 170 years, under threat at times from every direction. they are more civilized than every other nation. why not learn from them? mcconnell? if you listen to people like him, it will harm your brain.
