  1. daily mr hartmann reports that usa is not a democracy, and often goes on to say, 'how can we save our democracy?' you can't save what you never had. when you say, 'we are an elective oligarchy,' you can begin to plan to change it. btw, someone called 'numuves' has done a wonderful analysis of american voting vs political outcomes. the resulting graph is easy to understand, and a stark demonstration of how silly it is to imagine usa is any kind of democracy.
