  1. why worry about losing democracy when you never had it, and don't know what it is? in fact some states have a constitution establishing democracy in state affairs. california a good example, referendum and initiative in continual use. but the usa is not a democracy, its laws override those of california, and many states are simply medieval. you can't have a democracy with a populace of dimwits and thugs, so there is no way forward for usa- some variety of dictatorship inevitable. the only interesting question is if usa will destroy the environment in pursuit of wealth, or destroy civilization with war in pursuit of power.
