nothing has gone wrong. you just don't understand the motivation engendered by the fundamental structure of the nation. it is working just as it was designed to do. usa is not a democracy. it never was, and that was the intention of the men who shaped the nation. when you ask, " what has happened to our democracy?" you demonstrate a total ignorance of usa history. democracy is run by the citizens, through referendum and initiative, and you have none of that. still you persist in referring to our 'democracy.' i will admit, i got my basic education in the usa, and there was reference to 'democracy,' but a moment's analysis would reveal the lie, to those who didn't want to participate in a national myth.
