  1. is it possible that leaving the management of the nation to politicians is not the optimum result for the ordinary american? states with a democratic constitution, notably california, seem to manage pretty well, and you can be sure that the masters of the state are trying to maintain good conditions for the people of the state, as this is the same group. in any event, when you allow politicians to be your masters, this is a typical result. only a mismanaged epidemic, not a war, yet.
