fdr didn't get usa out of depression by planning. he was saved by hitler. france and britain sent all their money for munitions, then britain started hocking caribbean islands for more munitions, then japan attacked, and the west was saved. well, europe was drained of men and money, but usa economy was very healthy. never let anyone tell you war doesn't pay. this is a lesson usa learned so well that they renamed the department of war to department of defense, and have been 'defending' ever since.
