  1. politicians work for the middle class at local level, mids and uppers at state level and uppers at national level. that's the way the federation was designed. lowers are occasionally appealed to, when convenient to the aspirations of an aspiring politician. aoc an outstanding example, in recent events. she got in, and discovered she could do nothing if she crossed the [very] old hands. rich and middles don't worry about police, so they hire the cheapest labor and 'suggest' the lowers are all crooks, just not yet caught. so in the result, cop/murderers are frequent enough to convince lowers to stay out of sight. usa was designed to be a hierarchical society, landed gentlemen on top, brown slaves at the bottom. the occupants of each level have evolved, but the places remain. nothing to be done. at best, civilized usans could migrate to blue states, and secede. or just emigrate. neither blues nor reds seem interested in democracy, yet establishing political equality through democracy is the only way to control plutocracy. so, move- farther the better.
