  1. corruption in government is of trivial importance, climate crisis might end human civilization. corruption in government is endemic, and not confined to the trump administration, or even the republican party. corruption is what happens when humans have power to steal from the nation's treasury. and that is built in. only democracy must be conducted in public, so that the masters of the nation can manage public affairs. the usa is not a democracy, and when a few hundred elite politicians can work in silence, out of sight, corruption is inevitable and has been reported from every administration. trump's administration might not be the worst, not yet at least. the climate crisis, on the contrary, is a new phenomenon as a global threat of cataclysm. comparing it to the danger of corruption is absurd.
