you can't destroy what you never had, and usans are deluded to imagine they ever had democracy. presumably endemic ignorance, pathetic education and organized lying by national media have resulted in a populace who think being ruled by politicians is called 'democracy.' and if they can just find a few good ones, they will be 'looked after.' no, you won't, talk about slow learners!
