  1. last time i looked, senate and house controlled legislation. even imperial presidents can only suggest. while most of the politicians in office got there and stay there by defending the rule of wealth, presidents are powerless. just cast your mind back to mr. "yes, we can!" there was a time real progressives controlled the nation, briefly. social security remains, little else. the constitution was not changed to democracy, and the rich bought back their nation, one politician at a time. america will lean leftish for awhile, but without fundamental change the usa is a plutocracy.
