  1. it's plutocracy on parade, maybe. the important point is that a state designed to be ruled by the rich through political surrogates has continued from birth to be exactly that. democracy was never an option for the usa. yet some americans, notably in california, did demand and get real democracy: referendum, initiative and recall, all in action, regularly or as needed. so the reality is, some americans saw the need for democracy, yet no one ever extends the idea to the federal sphere. surprising, since california is the economic and intellectual engine room of the usa. if they seceded, they would be the 5th largest economy in the world, i have read. i suppose they fear invasion from bubbaland if they did, all the soldiers come from there. democracy is not ending, it never began. the myth was created to keep the chumps quiet. it worked well while looting the usa natural resources, but there's an end to that in sight.
