  1. more than 90% of species known to h. sap. in science mode, are extinct. carefully farmed, we could get along without most of the remaining critters, in space-ship earth mode. but the parasites currently running our society can't even keep the local patch ticking over. we need socialism, to keep the world running, and democracy to keep society running., both are in short supply, and not spreading. on the bright side, the impending economic collapse may preserve the environment sufficiently for us to evolve better manners.
