  1. well, the constant assertion that 'usa is a democracy' has had an effect. makes sane political discussion nearly impossible. and the notion that 'capitalism is a good thing,' for any one not rich pretty much precludes useful chat. but what can you expect from a society founded to preserve slavery. imagine selling that as a good idea. i can see how usa got to be what it is, i wish i could see a way to keep usa from killing us all. 'greed is good' on a spherical surface is species insanity.
