perhaps they want to rule the world, but so far the chinese politiburo has distinguished itself from the usa by reclaiming much of the land widely labeled 'china' while not sending warships and armies to foreign lands. best of all, in a contest with an evil capitalist empire, china has been demonstrating peaceful, economic measures to resist the american empire. to put it simply, deng xiao ping handed american capital a sharp knife and invited it to gut itself as a profit-making action. they duly destroyed much of the american economy, without a shot fired.

@helengarrett6378 they are in what is called 'the south china sea. ' there is a reason for that. the brits, later the americans, claimed every water 12 miles from shore or more, as their highway. they were strong enough to do so, now they are not.
