  1. the structure of the society determines what the society is capable of doing. with the current voting system, the democratic party maximizes its chance of getting power by mimic-ing the republican party in most respects, to peel off a few 'right' votes, while pacifying its base with a few nonessential cultural features, because 'they have no-where else to go.' this paradigm has been productive since the 50's. it has also resulted in the democratic candidates being captured by money, since advertising has replaced principles. as the economy collapses from the rule of greed, people are driven to seek alternative political support. it won't work until there is general collapse and mass support arises. the history of the great depression suggests that no sustained improvement in society will result. usa needs a new constitution, establishing democracy. since no one says so, it won't happen. therefore, the general collapse will be terminal.
