  1. don't disturb yourself. you haven't got democracy, so can't lose it. many wouldn't want it, anyway. it requires citizen quality people, prepared to think about public affairs, and a sense of community, a belief that other citizens will treat you fairly, and you will reciprocate. that's not usa, is it. in the usa, politics is chariot racing, with a blue team and a red team. no ideology, just winning and losing, and sharing the spoils. lately the sharing hasn't reached down the economic ladder very far, and the national model is creaking. it will break soon, being far divorced from reality. no matter, except that massive military might be put to use, to patch up the civil model. and that will be the end of all of us. it was inevitable that a nation driven by greed would be deformed and would acquire a cancerous military aspect. so you could say the coming gotterdammerung is inevitable, fate written in the birth of the nation..
