[it was not an act of 'we, the people,'] it's purpose he said, was to stop the taxes on the rich being spent on the welfare of the poor. those grandees thought that was an excellent idea. and it was, it worked then, and continues to work. the people of the usa have no formal means to control the activity of the nation, no initiative power, and politicians are not going to hand over the keys to the bank. so the choice is revolution, or poverty. so far, the level of education and nutrition has prevented the idea of revolution from appearing. which is why coca-cola, white bread and contentless education is commonplace in america. a nation that talks frequently about hope and democracy, but has none of either.
