  1. most usa problems arise from a fundamental and profound weakness, usa is a functioning plutocracy, expressly designed to be ruled by wealth. this weakness is compounded by a near universal belief that usa is a democracy. i should say, not belief in some cases, rather a complicity in the national myth for personal comfort. human society is characterized by struggle for position, and any society in which some children start off with a wealthy or powerful family is an aristocracy, for wealth buys power, and power soon is rich. usa is not a democracy. its people do not enjoy the basic privileges that accrue to any society where the people are the ruling class. they never will, until they rebel. patience is not an option. elite rule is destroying the environment, mere drinking water will soon be in short supply. i see no consciousness of the need for revolution. perhaps a partial amelioration could be achieved, with secession? the west coast could leave, california by itself would be a prosperous democracy. perhaps the north-east would follow, making bubbaland impotent to threaten the world.
