  1. when red states and delta death states are similar, even usans may begin to realize politicians are not their friends. but it is a transient emotion, quickly over-laid with more fundamental drives for some sense of security in a world visibly falling apart. politicians will offer that sense of security with some new mantra, and if it is radically opposite to the previous one, well, it turns out '1984' was written for the usa after all. for the dim and ignorant, life is a prison without the need for walls or guards.
