  1. why not enlist a little history on the argument? the post-war 'golden age' of the usa thought 90% marginal rate was ok. and there was a bit of socialism in health care and education, too.

  2. let's quit fooling around. seal the airports, start shooting anyone who looks rich. what's the use of all those guns swashing around the usa, if they are never used for moral rectification. unfortunately, neither this nor any other practical plan to create a prosperous and just society has been published in recent years. i include bernie's well-meant yearning for a better new deal. he hasn't said anything about establishing democracy, sine qua non. i'm pressing you to extend your education, this is the most important sentence in american politics, chiefly by its absence. the fundamental law of the federation was expressly designed to ensure the rich few ruled the many un-rich, and look around you - it continues to work 230 years later. at what point are american leaders/intellectuals/progressives going to realize the game is fixed? never, because they are not eager to hand the wand of power to the little people. until the little people decide to stand up and take, h. sap. is doomed.
