'consciousness' is a complex question, children start off selfish because they have little insight into others. repeated applications of praise, candy and leather straps give them insight into other people, vis a vis, sharing. but that;s psychology. when confronted with an adult whose guiding principle is "what's mine is mine, and so is anything else i can take," you must show him the gun. that's politics. unfortunately, usans are strangely lacking in community spirit. so the strong take what the want, pay their muscle, and drive down the center of the street. in a nation where there are more guns than people, it is amazing that the rich are able to seize and hold local domination, since they are necessarily hopelessly outnumbered. what is the matter with usans? filled with submissive genes?
