so whoever gets control of congress can block the supreme court? are you sure you wanna go there? when are you going to realize that usa is not a democracy, and its state structure is purpose-built to ensure the rule of wealth. it comes down to, if you want democracy, you must tear up the constitution and write a new one. really not hard, california state constitution would serve as an interim base. but here's the core of usa's problem: most of its people are not citizen quality people. they are perfectly content to be ruled by an elite, even when that elite is typified by trump and pelosi. a few struggle to put 'their guy/girl' in the elite position, most just try to make living. they don't know or care what's going on in dc. every 4 years they are invited to choose between a sociopath and senile dement, as an exercise in 'democracy.' 40% commonly can't be bothered, an intelligent assessment of the value of such a vote.
