the usa 'declared war' in 1949, have you forgotten? prc told the world it was communist, and usg went into frothing rage. then it defended s. korea from becoming part of 'korea.' and commissioned the army to advance to the yalu river to establish 'korea' too, only as a usa puppet.
a little later on, macarthur made a public assessment of which 25 chinese cities should be nuclear bombed.
prc by then came to the conclusion that it must have a credible and effective nuclear strike force, at whatever cost.
there is zero trust in beijing, for usa politicians. with good reason. the people of usa would be wise to distrust their government too. plenty of reason there, as well.
in some ways, prc is already stronger than usa, partly because they don't burn so much money on military matters.
usa remains the primary danger to the world, and its sinking economic capability is beginning to raise the possibility of catastrophic war. vietnam, korea, iraq and afghanistan have taught them that having the best military, doesn't always get what you want. they have already demonstrated a willingness to use nuclear bombs as a tool of imperial dominance, they will do anything to own the world.
fortunately, russia and china, together may frighten even the entitled masters of the 'free world' into simulated civilized behavior. fingers crossed, everyone.
