  2. can't strengthen american democracy, because you refuse to admit that america is not a democracy. this national psychosis is untreatable. equally bad, the free market ethos is not confined to the market, but is omnipresent in the character of the people. 'i got mine, you get yours, if you can.' worst of all, usa is committed to ignoring the climate crisis which will make survival more difficult for all. to sum up: we're doomed, usa is rotting, and even the talking heads think promoting books on the 'let's play together' theme is the answer. on the plus side, watching the human race destroy itself through economic measures is a definite step up from nuclear armageddon.
