'our democracy?' princeton university recently did a study of usg activity vs public opinion. there was zero co-relation. zero. but that was with the lower 90% income profile. with the upper 10%, high co-relation. when madison promised a plutocracy, he delivered. this was a statistical analysis. or you can simply note the total absence of referendum and citizen initiative, and wonder why anyone would imply usa was a democracy. there is literally no connection between the word and reality. except lies, of course. every politician in usa tells you that usa is a democracy, a new, improved version that is done for you, no effort required. in fact, it's better if you don't know what's going on. you might worry, unnecessarily.
