  1. run fer the hills! ...has a new meaning: 1/4 of humanity will be underwater by 2100. nothing to be done. h. sap. grew up with alpha males in charge, and has learned no better. they are not good leaders, often bad masters, invariably blind to long term concerns. homer sap has let them do it. dim-witted selfishness of a different kind. resisting alphas hard, and frequently dangerous, so let them have their way. the only bright spot is the possible quick collapse of industrial society may happen soon enough to prevent extinction. let's hope the survivors take the lesson.
