  1. about 3 times a year, the swiss discuss what their nation should do, through referendum and initiative. that's as close to democracy as any nation gets. i believe their democracy is eroding, due to pressure from e. u. envelopment. even so, when hitler had them wrapped, and announced he was sending a management team to integrate them into his europe, the swiss had a referendum on what they should do. at odds of about 100-1, they answered, 'no, you won't.' they were what i call citizen quality people. the people of usa don't measure up. nor anywhere else, of couurse, but other oligarchies are much less inclined to claim 'democracy.' so hang out your bedsheets, to replace a sociopath with a senile dement. that passes for citizenship nowadays.
