  1. there were several turning points, but the first was indicative: failure to capture moscow suggested that the gerrman war plan of blitzkrieg had failed. thereafter production, resources and manpower were all dominated by ussr. and they had some superior weapons, too: the t34-85 was crude but cost-effective, 'tatyana' rocket launchers and shpagin sub-machine guns delivered a lot of fire-power for the money.
