  1. usa claimed dominance of the americas many years ago, and still do. but either usa is much weaker now, or the central and south american nations collectively much stronger, and the claim is exposed as wishful thinking. whatever that balance, these contrary voices are good news for the rest of the world. now, if they could establish a 'confederation of south and central america' with at least trade and mutual defence provisions, what a better world it would be.
