  1. just so you know, usa is not, never has been, any sort of democracy. that would explain why the government does what it wants, without consulting the people. i used to marvel that americans didn't understand this. but you get used to it, now the election of trump just prompts a laugh.

  2. the government of the usa has never been a democracy. that's why pretenses to democracy are causally knocked over as the childish nonsense they are. if you want democracy, you have to fight for it, and first you have to know what it is, and isn't. this is too hard for american intelligentsia, much less the average couch potato.
