  1. prc is not a democracy, so my admiration for that society always comes with an asterisk. but at least they do not claim to be 'democratic.' many nations claim to be 'democratic,' but none are, with the limited exception of helvetia. that hypocrisy, that 'rule by double-think,' ensures the continuing oligarchy of politicians, who have no goal but personal aggrandizement. xjp may indulge himself in complaint about 'leaked' conversation, but he probably understands that everything said to a politician is used to advance that politician's career. this is a condition of human society. no one expects virtue from politicians. well, no one but children and fools.
