aoc is a good person, but she doesn't tell the truth. maybe she doesn't realize it, more likely she is afraid to say it: usa is not a democracy. it was purposely designed to allow the rich to rule, and look around you, they do. which is why the democrats are just republicans-lite, there is no future in fighting for the poor.
when the game is rigged, you either get out of the game, or change the rules, or sell yourself. adc doesn't say that, because she's in the game, and you can't change it from inside. change needs revolution, and she is not a revolutionary. can't blame her, it's dangerous, as the kennedy brothers demonstrated. worse, it's not possible when the people are too ignorant or too selfish to see the need for the sacrifices necessary to changing society.
americans are not ready for revolution, i think they never will be. there will be ruffles on the water, there were much greater ones in the 1930s, but nothing came of it. aoc is just one of the ruffles, ho chiminh, she ain't.

talking bout the democratic party is a waste of time.the rich run america, because that was the purpose of the constitution. its structure is simple: concentrate power in a few hundred people, and buy them. it has worked very well, and until 'progressives' get out of the way so real reformers can change the constitution, not much can be done about plutocracy.
this may be impossible: 'progressives' accept elite rule, they just fantasize that somehow a political elite is going to 'look after' the helpless mob. has never happened, but the alternative involves sustained struggle. too hard for middles, and the poor are too busy with survival.
usa is doomed, and unfortunately this time political collapse will accompany, and cause, environmental collapse.

politicians are the effete descendants of norman warlords. instead of having battles, they have elections, instead of arrows, ballots. bernie on fox is the old warrior showing the young that he's still got it. may change a few votes, more important is to give the notion that ballots should settle the war, not actual violence.
nothing to do with democracy, there is no democracy in the constitution, by no accident.
hard to see bernie winning, the democrat party is not his friend, much less the republicans. but he has a great asset- he's running against trump. surely that's enough?: except it wasn't quite enough last time, when the democrats thought it was in the bag. really confusing- neither party gives a damn for ordinary people, and the chumps are beginning to figure it out.
this is symptomatic of empire collapse. andy yang is the blue bird of the spring of the new order- a bit ahead of his time, but rome found it had to give away bread, to eat at the circus, and usa will be ubi soon. the exworkers will briefly be happy, but ubi is just a bandage on a skin cancer. a nation unwilling to tax the rich has no future, although madison would be proud that it had this much of a past.

don't get excited. bernie is not a democrat, and the dnc will stop him if they can. and they can: they could simply ignore his pluralities and hand the nomination to one of the other candidates. the dnc wants the usa to be a wholly owned nation of the politician caste- it is in their self-interest. bernie is an embarrassment, seeking office without dnc support. if he wins, their income drops.
worse, if he wins, it will be a barren victory, both parties will ignore his attempts at legislation. i think it will be best if he is nominated, and loses.
best for the nation, best for the planet. there is going to be a second 'great depression' soon. better by far that trump is in office. the person who picks up the pieces will likely be andrew yang, backed by enthusiastic supporters in both houses. and the depression may save the planet, due to greatly reduced economic activity.
something to think about, a comfort if things don't appear to go well for bernie.

700$ jacket is relevant. it classifies sanders as a politician, not a saint, and not a revolutionary. this is a handy distinction, because a politician is not going to fix america. the framework of america, the constitution, has shaped the nation, and the shape will not change until the constitution changes. that is the work of a revolutionary. 'progressives' wish for a fairy god-mother, who will take care of them. sanders plays to that wish, and made a good living from it. but while he was making his living, america re-entered the 'gilded age,' its natural state. he is not the answer.

did you know, that 'democracy' used to mean 'rule by the people? how did it change? see george orwell's idea of 'double think.' if you pollute the brains of children, you can stop effective resistance to control for lack of vocabulary.
you don't live in a democracy, but 'democratic' is constantly used as a 'good' word, excusing violence abroad and exploitation at home.
democracy will result in a certain amount of socialism, but socialism without democracy is likely to result in stalinism. so get democracy first, and let the citizens decide how they want to live.
so why does bernie want socialism first? indeed, no mention of getting democracy at all. you'll have to ask him, but my guess is he thinks americans are too dim for democracy, but hungry enough to want state support. he may be right, or he simply wants to be 'boss.' a common failing in politicians, since they are literally nothing without power.

this is a non-story, about people who think they can bring order and ethics to a whorehouse by applying for a management position.
yang doesn't have much to offer in politics, he's on the wrong side of some ethical questions, but he did inject some reality into usa society with ubi. even rome had to feed the mob from quasi-public coffers. this will come to usa, cv19 just speeded up the process.
biden is a disaster, trump may well beat him, and you can't be certain that's the worst result. the class of politicians nowadays is not worse than before, but they are much less careful about masking their character from the chumps.
the usa political system is obsolete, unjust, undemocratic and rotten. worse, it has created an electorate of disaffected, alienated and cynical people, incapable of driving any significant reform. yer toast, sliding down the ladder of relevance, and gossiping about personalities like a teenage clique.
on the plus side, real decay is much more interesting, more educational than following activity in bern, which is an actual democracy, in a squeaky clean nation.
