  1. no, they are not all assault weapons. you can kill a person with a single shot bolt action rifle, or a kitchen knife. but an mi6 is purpose built for armed combat. personally, i see no reason why every sane and responsible adult should not have an m16 in a gun-safe if you think you might want to resist government control. but be clear, it's to kill people when needed. predatory militarism, old-fashioned banditry, is part of the usa national character, and ms gabbard has no idea what to do about it. nor does anyone else- usa economy would collapse instantly if peace broke out. so she is not a serious candidate. my problem with ms gabbard, is that she chose the hindu religion as her guide to virtuous living. for people not born in india, that is insane. america has brought the world scientology, and latter-day saints, snake worshiping baptists - there is no need go to the far side of the world to display the fracture in your sanity.
