americans don't seem to understand that they don't live in a democracy. the people do not rule. politicians do. and the politicians look out for themselves, notably by being kind to rich people. the usa is a functioning plutocracy, by design. madison said that was his aim, and he was very successful. i used to wonder why people put up with it.
