  1. destructive, yes. decisive, no. the reality of the capabilities of germany and sov union pivoted in front of moscow. after that, germany grew steadily weaker, sovs stronger. the germans planned on a 3 month war, knowing they must win quickly, or not at all. that's why wehrmacht had no winter uniforms.
