the underlying problem is the usa hand in the japanese puppet. the current, and usual japanese government, feels strong enough to threaten prc because of the usa hand on their shoulder. but this aggression is fragile, being utterly dependent on usa support, and possibly on usa demands. which makes it possible for russia to remind japan that dreams of a greater east asia co-prosperity sphere were just dreams then, much more so now.
i would feel sorry for the japanese people, who are continually endangered by right-wing nutters in government, except that there are elections, and the right wing nutters usually win. these are the people that led japan to destruction in ww2, and being usa sock-puppet will not save japan from prc strikes if the bluster turn hot.
the modi government, is doing much the same, acting as usa surrogate to win votes at home, while risking general war with prc.
in my view, politician rule is threatening racial extinction. those are real rockets and real bombs. and threatening russia and/or prc is not going to end well.
