  1. the tory party put rs in power, has nothing to do with opinions of the plebs. torys will put anyone in power, not excepting darth vader. the immediate hands-out to modi may reassure india, and there may be an element of 'empire strikes back' satisfaction. uk is a very backward nation, and so is india. both have pockets of excellence which may make for a fruitful , complementary partnership. and both have sacred cows. made in heaven!
