  1. india is going through a bad time, but the survivors will presumably be covid-safe. the important part of the current crisis is the glaring light thrown on to the political management of the nation. no point in blaming modi, even if he were competent and well-intentioned, india is ungovernable. which means more disasters will be along soon. china was in a similar state 100 years ago, but no one says, "let's follow their road to prosperity." i wonder why that is.
