yes, usa school children are told daily that they have 'democracy.' it's a lie. no one has democracy, except the swiss. they stumbled into it, almost accidental, over a long and convoluted process, and the result ain't pretty. but: when the nazis invited them to submit to a direction team from germany, the swiss said, "wait a bit, we'll get back to you," then they had a referendum. big no! and they made it stick, with a combination of resolute militancy and a bit of help from the red army. don't know how well their democracy is holding up, they are surrounded by an empire run by germany, again. humanity is not well-suited to democracy. it will lead to disaster, since elite rule is always selfish, and the natural wealth of the planet can not satisfy them. china today is the most effective society, and will supplant usa if there is no general war. a barren victory, climate collapse is going to stir humanity worse than the black death.
