you are right, many nations jumped into bed with usa/nato. their leaders have been 'persuaded' it's a good idea. usg is rich enough to buy those leaders, sometimes a threat is enough. my own view is simple: the usg is evil. avoid contact. support anyone who resists them. if you are well-acquainted with modern history, you should form this opinion yourself.

since 1948, the usa has led a crusade against the prc, chiefly involving economic warfare through interdiction of trade. there was some shooting, in korea and vietnam, with mixed results. consequently, prc is not much inclined to co-operate in many international 'rules.' they are clear about usg intentions to dominate the world, and disagree. i can understand the chinese viewpoint. just look at trump and biden, and anyone can understand that the usg is decadent, and totally directed by secret figures. who have no interest in anything but their private power and wealth. as for your trade surplus, don't accuse the chinese. look at your own politicians, and ask, "why have you allowed this?" they will answer, "we were bribed, and well-rewarded."

india is important, partly because there are so many of you, partly because of the cultural variety under one political roof, but mostly because cows are sacred. clearly you are marching to a different drum. it's a worry. 100 years ago, india and china were toiling along the road together, but look at you now. is there anyone in india willing to say, "maybe we are doing something wrong...?

'minus 2' will need a bit of explanation. but prc has handled the virus pretty well, given the very limited medical assets they have on hand. this is why they have relied very heavily on isolation to control spread. hospitals and medical staff were adequate, barely, before the virus came, but were over-whelmed with the over-load. they have responded with vaccine development but roll-out has not been all that was needed. so they continue to rely on spot isolation, and some spots are big. the lesson for prc government must be to spend more money on preparation for sudden-onset load.
