xjp must be embarrassed, at least. not surprised if he 'retires.' but the chinese have had to develop a 'long view' in foreign relations, and they are capable of 10 year plans, or longer. politician-ridden societies commonly don't know what's happening now, and are often surprised by changes of course, or masters. so perhaps xjp will still be directing prc 5 years from now. certainly not true of biden, pelosi, maybe. 5 years from now, prc likely to be stronger, usa weaker. or ten years. cpprc will still be driving china, while no one can say who will be directing usa, or how well. and that's why xjp didn't shoot down pelosi's plane. he thinks he's going to win, so long as there is no war. he's probably right.
