  1. indian politics is mildly interesting, watching people try to build a bridge with no materials but a surfeit of noodles. better than military dictatorship, most likely, but very hard to make progress in any particular direction. is it possible that there are too many politicians? not enough leaders? no ideas? plenty of opinions? india will soon be the largest nation, by population, but it's not clear to me that it should be a nation at all, since the task of governing it is beyond human capacity. indian politicians as a profession have utterly failed to maintain and promote social progress. the comparison with prc is obvious, and should be shaming to indian politicians of every flavor.
