  1. india never had democracy, and any elite rule will hide corruption and oppression, to minimize resistance. but inevitably it emerges, as the elite extend their grasp of wealth and power. india is following the usual course, and there is no reason to think justice and prosperity will emerge from this society. nothing to be particularly ashamed of, all of human history is variations of the same story. i think only getting democracy can save humanity from the cancer of elite rule. but can we get it? probably not.
