As long as the same people rule Ukraine, they will be seeking the same things. Worse, these individuals are invested in the west in every detail possible, their money, houses, etc... and will always be subject to tight control. Naivety can be the enemy of lasting peace. If Russia did not pull out of its positions in 2022 as goodwill gesture after the almost agreement in Turkey, there would have been peace by now.
