  1. It is wrong to say Saudi Arabia is pitting its energy policy against DC. It is only looking for its interests within OPEP to maintain the price of the only thing they produce. It is one thing to use sanctions like the West does for the sole purpose to harm the other side heavily even when it harms them too, and another thing to take decisions that impact EVERYONE the same to protect one's interests. Oil is the only thing that had its price fluctuate within the same range for the last 40 years, while everything else is many times more expensive.

  3. An easy solution to circumvent the $60 oil price cap for Japan and others is to get $60 worth of crude, add sea water at the loading port to make it a barril. It is crude and has to be refined anyway.
