And the tactic has the best chances to work for a very simple reason: USA depends on Canada about 5%, Canada depends on USA for about 70%. It is easier to swallow 5% than 70%. Besides, salaries in Canada are closer to those in USA than the ones in Mexico or China for example. The hurt will be felt instantaneously in Canada. The opposite is true for China, that has a well established market with the rest of the world way more sophisticated than that of USA. China also has already replaced the important imports from USA with Brazil and Russia. Canada does not even have a gas pipeline to take its Alberta gas to Vancouver, as it depends 100% on USA pipelines. Canada has the economic structure of a USA state.
