Russia can, Georgia has no direct borders with Russophobes. To the contrary, all the surrounding countries are friendlier to Russia. Ossetians and Abkhazians want to join the federation because previous Georgian government scared the shit out of them instead of attracting them UN charter has in writing that people have the right to chose where they belong. Nobody can change that. all Putin has to do is accept Ossetia and Abkhazia in. Then you get the russian power within 2 km of the only road connectin East and West, and within 20 kn of the only commercial port. Smart and wise georgians should not allow the few who have been bought, or who hope to sell the fact that they border Russia to move to Paris. Georgia is NOT a European country. And the EU refused access to your most important neighbor Turkey who is partly in Europe.
