@diargakande6740 Ethiopia has been cornered for 1,400 years so nothing new and the muslims of the area werent centralized nor did they take on industrialization like Ethiopia

@cupanodensetsu2420 Ethiopia would've won any way the only reason they didnt expand is because Europeans blocked industrialization from them and britian actually attacked Ethiopia and killed one of its emperors (tweodros)who was making great reforms even making his own weapons and canons from scratch he inspired minilk since he was his father figure with out the British intervention he wouldn't have died giving Ethiopia much more time to expand and industrialize, egypt had a shit of an army not because of lack of guns they failed to even capture the nomadic north eastern afars of Ethiopia which wasnt under protection by the emprors which means egypt lost against literal nomads who fought wih swords while egypt had many guns and many officers from different p countries the mahadists were fans of Ethiopia thewodros used to support them immensely only the later empror(yohannes) who was a extremist Christian ruined the relation by marching to sudan to free egyptian soldiers who were captured by mahadists in exchange for britain giving back both Eritrea and Northern somalia and he succeeded, he was betrayed later on the another battle field like he did with tweodros all the people he persecuted joined the mahadists and beheaded him

@cupanodensetsu2420 i want to add another thing Ethiopia is a very mountainous country 70% of africas mountains are located in Ethiopia egypt wouldnt have power to conquer such a mountainous country while italy a much more industrialized nation tried and failed ,every invading power attacked Ethiopia from its low lands in the eastb and eritrea including egypt ,tana is located in the north west around the most rugged mountains its the most defended area that's why egypt didnt try to invade from there in our time line its like how italy tried to conquer france from the alps even with the nazis kicking france left and right italy couldn't brake through the alps , unification with egypt didnt even cross the minds of the Sudanese if egypt didn't conquer them by force thats not possible nobody gives away their independence so easily , and what ever Europe was doing to weaken egypt they were doing it more to Ethiopia so no Ethiopia would've won either way

What would really happen Colonization doesn't occur in africa Egypt and Ethiopia : fine I'll do it my self
7
@fritoss3437 Ethiopia didnt expand because of britain and italy taking away kenya,Somalia and eastern sudan Ethiopia had no other interests
7
@fritoss3437 well egypt tried twice and failed twice
6
@rarelife1 Europeans took Eritrea and most of Djibouti from Ethiopia that why Eritreans are abyssinians and the sultan of northern Djiboutians , southern eritreans and eastern ethiopian afars is also very patriotic towards what hw considers his country Ethiopia
6
@Arsenal1940 it wasnt small it was decentralized all considered them selfs one and admitted the fact that they all belonged to one state the problem was who would rule
6
@sabrina1380m yes but they didn't prevent them from colonizing others because they did conquer sudan and tried to conquer Ethiopia while they were under ottoman rule in our time line

@thechosenone1533 no Ethiopias coasts were taken by italy , Britain and France russia supported them only by words they didnt give them material suppor the only nation that ever did was nazi germany in ww2 believe it or not Europe sanctioned Ethiopia instead of helping
2
@thechosenone1533 just google german support for Ethiopia in ww2 ,germany wanted Italy to stay distracted while they annex Austria, if u thought Italy and germany were very friendly with each other u dont know any history

@ikengaspirit3063 agew are very cushitic they migrated from eritrea to ethiopia , before gudith i think some jews revolted i mean arabs mention thay the najashi of axum was fighting a tribe around the source of the nile and the source of the nile(tana) was occupied by the jews until the late 14th century so i think the axumites started in forcing Christianity on them or maybe they just wanted independence there is still a chance many of the jews were originally himyarites from yemen who settled in Ethiopia when axum had influence over them
2
Theu wanted one more country (Ethiopia) but they couldn't get their hands on it

I can guess what would happen if portugal and Ethiopia allied there are 3 scenarios 1st Ethiopia and portugal go to conflict for autonomy over arabia since Ethiopia is orthodox and Portugal is catholic which i think would lead to loses on the Ethiopian side 2nd they peacefully divide it between orthodox and catholic Ethiopia would probably want more of southern arabia than the rest of the middle east 3rd is Ethiopia converts to catholicism or sosenyos gives Ethiopia to the Portuguese which would make a giant catholic power and expand to the rest of the middle east and north africa doesn't matter in which scenario Portugal woulddecline like it did in our time line they would have had a large supporting population close to the middle east and india which would make it easier for portugal to subdue india and many parts of asia in no time but as soon as industrialization starts britain would take much of the colonies from them , portugal would possibly end the ottoman supremacy in the red sea in this time line i suspect that Ethiopia would take in many Europeans migrations because it had a better climate than most of africa and more fertile soil as well, expanding deep into the middle east doesnt sound possible maybe they would take the nile hostage and open trade through the red sea for Europeans but apart from that no major expansion to the middle east sounds possible i can see southern arabia becoming Christianized again and the arab slave trade would be abolished earlier (it was lead by southern arabians) , when colonization starts in that time line Ethiopia would be a major player maybe they would be invited to Vienna and make major claims possibly to the entirety of eastern african coastline and parts of central africa and industrialization would occur much earlier for ethiopia Making them one of the major powers Honestly the ethio-portugese alliances shouldn't have ended shortly like it did in our timeline it almost sounded like fantasy 2 christian empires located on two different edges of the world uniting to defeat the common enemy noice

@yasuke230 if colonization didnt happen in africa egypt wouldn't have been colonized too because its in africa Genius

Malcolm III Europeans signed literal agreements to stop machineries and other stuff from going into Ethiopian thwy took their coasts making them isolated and they invaded but failed to colonize them
1
@lif3andthings763 false the first rail road was made by the Ethiopian emperoro shortly after he defeated Italy to facilitate trade but france wanted a piece if it so even the construction took some time but it wasnt funded by italy nor did italy have any saying In it , Ethiopias problem is that they didnt go to the Germans and ottomans in ww1 biggest mistake of their lives
1
@lif3andthings763 false Ethiopia loand most of Djibouti to france to build it and own it , it didnt fall apart in ww2 infact even the Italians used in ww2 they even bought new engines for it to make it faster , Ethiopia would've never taken it militarily from france we both know that the french operated it because they had expertise but not because they owned it naturally Ethiopia took a while to train natives and operate it , it fell apart when cars became dominant in Ethiopia much later

SMM Productions minilk only signed a small portion of eritrea he said italy owns the land beyond the mereb river where tigres, arabs amd bejas live modern eritrea is wayy biggest than that the entirety of the mereb river is now under eritrea and the southern afar and kunama inhabited lands which wasnt signed to Italy were annexed illegally, its a well known fact thta minilk inforced frances control over Djibouti he ordered the port of obok which is now modern Djibouti to be "loand to sudan" afars were die hard Ethiopians their sultan was among the first ones to join Ethiopia even before the more proethiopian Southern regions and almost the entirety of eastern ethiopia u can look at any map of the time till this day afars heavily support ethiopia and claim the entirety of southern eritrea and Djibouti as Ethiopian territory read about the exafar sultan u died a few years ago he was more proethiopian than the government
1
@polecat7377 well ethiopia isnt as divided the current federal system was made by an antiethiopian regime and is at the process of being removed to either a unitarian or better federalism In reality Ethiopians are classified only in 2 ,habesha(abyssinans or semitic speakers) and non habesha ( non semitic speakers) Abyssinans get along except a small minority of tigrayans so ethiopia is pretty united thats why it continued to exist even when it was easy to succeed from it when the communists fell only eritrea succeeded and the rest stayed even tho many of them were killed because of normal commie stuff

@ikengaspirit3063 gudit was jewish somalis never mention her existence and arabs call her pagan she is believed to have married person from the Christian zagwe dynasty which took over after axum by no means was she Muslim the Christian church of Ethiopia would've slaughtered the muslims instead of the jews if that was the case but its not and the jews suffered for this reason
1
@thechosenone1533 bullcrap they didn't give them sh1t for free show ur evidence and the nazis did support them they sent guns and ammunition
1
@ikengaspirit3063 even sidamo had a queen at the time but qudit wasnt muslim her real name isnt gudit in Ethiopian tradition but judith which literally means jewish woman gudit is a title
1
@ikengaspirit3063 the zagwe dynasty wasnt even axumite nor semitic it was agew, the only mentioned axumite general is hatsani who lived in the 6th or 7th century, lets say the zagwe were initially axumite and so was judith in axumite tradition she was caught with the gold gilded cloth of ezana so they(the church) cut her breasts in revenge she married an outsider and attacked the church and killed all the royals of axum except dil na'od, Ethiopian tradition states that many jews and pagans were killed in the early times of the solomonic dynasty because they are belived to be evil while semien or most specifically the jewish kingdoms fell later in the late 14th-15th century, even after that many from the dynasty oppressed them for that reason, there were many mosques in medieval solomonic Ethiopia but almost no synagogues why do u think they didnt allow them to build its obvious stop faking history
